Rye Hill is an outstandingly beautiful part of Dorset and this is reflected in the farm that has remained virtually untouched for 50 years.
There is a wide variety of flora and fauna on the farm, as you would expect from an area that has been designated SNCI (Site of Nature Conservation Interest)
Many of the fields run alongside Bere Stream. This is a wonderful example of a chalk stream. It’s not unusual to be able to spot the occasional trout swim past.
Spears Copse has been recognised as part of the ancient woodland that used to cover England. The eco-system within the woodland is fragile and we are pro-actively managing the bluebell wood and naturally occurring dewpond.
